It was reportedly given the fact that Xiaomi’s 12.5-inch laptop/notebook ODM production will be manufactured by Inventec at its factory in Shanghai. Said that the shipments of the portable desktop PC will begin sometime in April 2016. Confirms this report, when in September this year, Chairman of Inventec, Richard Lee said that the company was working with Xiaomi to build an all-new laptop.
Furthermore, moving to the details which states that Xiaomi has its plans in manufacturing not only one 12.5-inch laptop, but also 13.3-inch notebook along with Inventec and Compal Electronics. Launch date scheduled at the same time but the Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi will debut the 12.5-inch model first, as per the sources citing on.
The Xiaomi’s 12.5-inch notebook is said to resemble as what Apple’s MacBook Air go by and it will cost $2999 Yuan (US$470). Apparently, the overall aesthetics of the notebook will be supplimented by Chinese makers afterall.
The Taiwan-based company, Inventec has revealed a while back that they’re getting ready to manufacture Xiaomi-branded laptops which will be available in January next year. 2016 is very important for Xiaomi, which is not only planning to release a notebook, but might all expand to new markets next year, including the US market, which is going to be a big deal, and it has plans, and remains to be seen what happens next.
