Malata X6 is a waterproof phone’ using bone conduction

When Malata started targetting the Chinese market again, they announced their intention to make their product line more diverse and competitive. With so many cellphones on the market, making a unique cellphone is no easy task. Recently, however, Malata released the world’s first cellphone to have a speaker screen—the Malata X6. In this short review, we take a look at this interesting little device.
Malata X6
The Malata X6 uses a pioneering speaker screen technology that only Malata possesses. In principle, this technology involves inserting a piezoelectric actuator under the display screen. This technology lets the screen vibrate and release sound. By integrating the function of a phone receiver with an IPS display screen, there is no longer any need of the traditional phone receiver with holes. When you make a phone call, you can hear high-quality sound by putting your ear near any corner of the screen. This is very convenient as you no longer have to look for the speakers when you want to listen better.
Malata X6Malata X6
Because there are no holes above the screen, no water or dust can come from the front. There are times when you are going get water, tea, or any other liquid spilled over your phone. The Malata X6’s design lessens the probability of any liquid or dust going inside.

The Malata X6 uses the Android 4.4 OS and sports a 5.0-inch IPS display screen.

The volume switch and lock screen button are located on the right side. There is 3.5 earphone jack on the top. At the bottom, there is a Micro USB port and microphone.

It looks like Malata is succeeding in their mission to create a unique device. From its functions to its appearance, it seems to show this. It would not be a bad choice for a holiday gift. That’s for sure.

iFive Air Endurance Evaluations

iFiveAiriambillbilIMP3NetGE01
It turns out iambillbil was not finished evaluating the iFive Air. He’s broken his past template and added two new parts to his iFive Air posts at the IMP3Netforum: Game Evaluation [Google Translate] and Endurance Evaluation [Google Translate].
The part about games is particularly interesting because it addresses memory bandwidth. And it seems the Allwinner A80 — used in the Onda V989 and Teclast P98 Air — has the widest bandwidth, with the Intel 3735 being second.
The most interesting item about this tablet came from TimoBeil in Comments here, who pointed out there’s a ROM by OMA for it.

Here’s a new way to buy from Steam sales – just use your phone bill

A funny gif of Gabe Newell, co-founder of Valve Corporation – the company that developed the Steam platform.

Steam’s holiday sales have begun in earnest, but don’t you fret about not being able to partake of them because you don’t have a credit card. Carrier billing service Coda Payments – Codapay – has announced the Codashop for Indonesia, Philippines, and Singapore, with an initial focus on Steam Wallet codes. Just in time for the Thanksgiving sales!

Right now, a credit card or Paypal account is needed to buy Steam Wallet credits. However, Codashop aims to do away with the need to repeatedly input passwords or credit card details. Customers will supposedly be able to purchase Steam Wallet codes in less than a minute.

Codashop transactions will leverage on Codapay’s existing partnerships with telcos like Indosat and Esia in Indonesia, Philippines’ Globe Telecoms, and Singtel and M1 in Singapore. Singapore startup Coda Payments already allows customers to make online payments via their mobile phones, without the need for a credit card, and purchases made through Codashop will do the same. Costs will be charged to customers’ post-paid bills or deducted from pre-paid mobile credit.

Coda Payments got a US$2.3 million series A funding round last year from GMO Global Payment Fund, Rakuten Ventures, CyberAgent Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, and Skype co-founder Toivo Annus.

Take note though – Steam sales are the devil in disguise, and with such convenient payment methods, you’d best make sure you don’t burn a hole in your pocket!

Japan’s Shelfy, which connects interior designers with business owners, secures funding

Shelfy, a Japanese startup that matches business owners with interior design companies, received an investment from East Ventures (Disclosure: East Ventures also invests inTech in Asia, read our ethics statement here) of an undisclised sum. The Bridge is reporting that the investment was in the tens of millions of yen (somewhere in the vicinity of US$85,000 to US$850,000). The round comes just four months after Shelfy’s launch in July, and will be used to hire additional team members.

While shopping for something like clothing can be comparatively simple – visit the local mall or department store, window shop until something catches your eye, grab it off the rack, and cash out at the register – choosing an interior designer is a much more involved process. You’d probably start with an online search of nearby firms, head to multiple offices and showrooms (last I checked, there wasn’t an interior design firm shopping mall), select your top two or three for estimates, negotiate the price, and then finally select the winner. That all goes without saying that building or remodeling a business costs exponentially more than a shirt or new pair of shoes – and takes a lot more time than a wardrobe change.

With Shelfy, business owners can browse example designs by category (food and drink, beauty salon, apparel shop, clinic, school, office, and “other”). If the user comes across an example that matches their desired aesthetic, they simply provide details about their place and request an estimate. Users can also select multiple examples to compare quotes and select the most affordable option. At present, Shelfy serves Japan’s central Kanto region (which includes the greater Tokyo area).

LG is working on a hybrid, which threaten the Surface Pro 3

LG Tab-Book 2 / photo. Liliputing
As reported by one of the editors of CNET, offering from LG to be something totally different than the equipment presented at CES 2014 in Las Vegas – LG Tab-Book 2, which we wrote about on tabletManiaKu. Tab-Book 2 has a touch screen and a keyboard on the rails, which after the separation of rectal transforms the device into a laptop. Its biggest drawback is the keyboard eject system because it prevents the display setting at any angle, which reduces comfort. The new product from LG the problem is to be solved. supposed to be a hybrid is able to fight with Microsoft Surface Pro 3, and thus offer a very similar system attach the keyboard. The heart of the hybrids will be the fourth-generation Intel Core and data storage will be a Solid State Drive. Thus, without any frills. Apparently decoration is also able to offer a long time on a single charge cycle, and it is possible that LG will embed the battery in both the tablet and the dock itself. Unfortunately, at this stage we do not have more information and therefore remain concerned wait. I believe that LG will surprise us and show a genuine hybrid, and this at a reasonable price. It is worth noting that these are not the first information on the ongoing work on a Windows tablet from LG, since the beginning of August, I wrote about LPAD and WPAD. Source: CNET

We have already see how MODECOM 8025 IPS IB falls for energy in the most popular

MODECOM FreeTAB 8025 IPS IB / photo. TabletManiaK.pl
We have already see how MODECOM 8025 IPS IB falls for energy in the most popular, test scenarios – as expected, for a long time away from work outlet rather not count. This is actually a characteristic of many less expensive devices with Windows (ai expensive models, it is often suffer from this ailment). We collected one comp chart for a test simulating the use of a web browser – either a WiFi connection, as well as with the use of an external 3G modem. [Test slug = "battery" virtual = "internet-wifi, internet-3g" product_id = "20154"] From what we have seen, MODECOM IB 8025 IPS excels at OTG support, including 3G modems (only external drives were deprived of their own power supply for the tablet trouble). The system works well, does not catch a screeching halt, but it is worth noting that so far we have used the device is not too hard – we're going to do in the near future to see if in fact 1 GB of RAM is sufficient for stable operation at higher load. As always, we look forward also to your questions – if there is something in particular you are interested, let us know in the comments. Review MODECOM 8025 IPS soon IBtabletManiaK.pl read on!

Jolla wants even more of your money

Exactly 19 November this year, I wrote about on tabletManiaKu Jolla Tablet, which will be produced thanks to all concerned. The company needed to start production of $ 380,000 that has been collected in less than two hours. The first million was reached the next day.The company wants yet more, and that's a slight exaggeration! Do I hide their indignation, because that's what the manufacturer would like to thank the fans for the collection of nearly 1.3 million dollars. Of course there is nowhere written that you have to pay extra even more, because otherwise the tablet will not be produced, but there is a few other requirements that must be met in order to have a tablet Jolla even better microSD card reader or a 3.5G modem. Thus, the implementation of a microSD card reader that supports cards of up to 128 GB (currently 32GB) will be held in time to collect 1.5 million dollars. If you are interested in split-screen function (and why should not in the standard?), Then it will settle in the software only when gathering 1.75 million dollars. If the grant will amount to a total of two and a half million, the manufacturer will launch a tablet with the option 3.5G modem for which you will have to pay the extra $ 30. Well. Does not it seem to you that these thresholds are the sum of which will not be achieved, and the company shows what they care about most? Is splitting the screen and card reader supports higher capacity is a huge increase in production costs? Or maybe you just feel Jolla easy money? Source: Indiegogo via tablets
