Download iOS 9.2 Beta 1 For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch

Apple has made first beta of iOS 9.2 to developers only after it released final iOS 9.1 to public, which brought new emoji and several under-the-hood fixes for issues that have plagued users since the launch of iOS 9.

Now that the iOS 9.2 beta 1 download is available to registered members of Apple Developer Program, and it’s likely a public beta will be available in the near future.
Just a few days back when Apple rolled out the final version of iOS 9.1, marking the end of those rather frequent beta releases. With the consumer release of Apple’s iOS 9.1 version out, there was bound to be something cooking in the labs at Cupertino. Unsurprisingly, iOS 9.2’s first beta has made an appearance, which means those already enrolled with an active membership of the Apple Developer Program can download the IPSW file directly from the Developer Center and install it on an iOS device through the usual process.
Apple’s iOS 9.1 brought with it in 150+ new emojis, support for Apple TV and iPad Pro, iOS 9.2 on the other hand is more of a general bug fix and performance improvement release, with a major change being Safari View Controller (SFSafariViewController) in apps now supporting third-party Action Extensions.
It is not yet known what changes iOS 9.2 will bring to Apple’s newest operating system, but as a major .1 update, iOS 9.2 is likely to introduce new features.  There’s also an Xcode 7.2 beta available.
What’s new in iOS 9.2
According to the release notes the Safari view window that pops up in some apps will now support third-party Action Extensions, that works in Safari will also work in SFSafariViewController, allowing it to behave more like the traditional Safari app.
Apple has confirmed this in accompanying release notes for iOS 9.2:
SFSafariViewController now supports 3rd party Action Extensions. Any Action Extension that works in Safari will also work in SFSafariViewController.
Long tapping the Reload button in Safari View Controller now gives options to Reload Without Content Blockers and Request Desktop Site, like in Safari.
iOS 9.2 Beta 1 resolves an issue where WebApps saved to the home screen would not respect the apple-mobile-web-app-status-bar-style meta tag.
There’s no word yet on when Apple plans to release the final version of iOS 9.2 to public. Though Apple may seed iOS 9.2 beta 1 to those iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users who are enrolled in the Public Beta Program soon.
