When to Use This Method?
You should use this method when you have your iPhone with you and you want to fix this issues on your iPhone. Before resetting, you can make a backup.
Note
The main drawback of this resetting method is that the data erased is not permanent and can be recovered via recovery software. This means your privacy will be at risk.
Steps to Reset iPhone Via iTunes
Step 1. Open iTunes on your Windows PC or Mac. Connect your iPhone with your computer via lightning cable.
If a Trust This Computer message is prompted, then follow the on-screen steps to Trust the computer.
Step 3. In iTunes, select your iPhone and then navigate to Summary > Restore [device].
Step 4. Click Restore again to proceed. iTunes will erase all data on your iPhone and download and install latest iOS software. Your iPhone will automatically restart once the reset process is completed.

When to Use This Method?
Use this method when you don't have your iPhone with you e.g. it is lost or stolen. You will need to use Find My iPhone feature to reset your lost/stolen iPhone.

Follow these instructions:
Step 1. Go to www.icloud.com and login. Use the same Apple ID and password when logging in as the iPhone you are trying to reset.
