Sync Over Wi-Fi

If you cannot sync your iPod Touch with iTunes via USB cable, then it is recommended that you try using Wi-Fi sync. Follow these instructions:


On iTunes, select your iPod Touch and then navigate to Summary and tick Sync with this iPod over Wi-Fi.


Now, on your iPod Touch, open Settings and navigate to General > iTunes Wi-Fi Sync and then tap the Sync now option.


Check the Connection

The problem may be with your iPod USB cable. Try plugging USB cable in another iDevice to see if it works correctly. If it doesn't, then use another compatible cable. You can also try different USB ports of your computer to see if the problem is solved.


Update iTunes to the Latest Version

Re-Authorize

If your computer is not authorized, then iTunes won't sync with your iPod Touch. That's why it is recommended that you re-authorize your computer with iTunes.

Follow these instructions:


Open iTunes and navigate to Account > Deauthorize This Computer.


Then input your Apple ID and de-authorize the computer by following on-screen instructions.

Now authorize your computer for a second time.
