Huawei’s Mediapad M2 review

Huawei’s Mediapad M2 is The Huawei P8 in Tablet Form?

Price: $323.21

Huawei has quietly announced the second-generation of its MediaPad tablet line-up with the Huawei M2.
The new tablet looks strikingly similar to the company’s flagship Huawei P8 smartphone, and succeeds last year’s Mediapad M1.
Huawei’s slate features an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a 275ppi pixel density.
Powering the device is Huawei’s custom-built octa-core Kirin 930 chip and 3GB of RAM – that’s exactly the same display and component set-up as the P8.
Similarly, the Huawei M2 is offered with two storage options available, with either 16GB or 64GB up for grabs.
Handling photography are two cameras: an 8-megapixel primary shooter, and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper to boot.

Just as with the P8 and the M1, the Huawei M2 boasts a premium metallic chassis. Huawei claims 99.5 per cent of the body is metal this time around.
It’s also a svelte affair, with the tablet sporting a 7.8mm thin profile. That’s just barely thinner than Google’s Nexus 9.
The Huawei M2 runs on Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, although it comes skinned with Huawei’s own Emotion UI 3.1 overlay.
All of this is juiced by a sizeable 4,800mAh battery.
Unfortunately, we don’t know when the Huawei M2 will launch in Europe or the US. What we do know, however, is that it’s getting a China release on July 16.
