Yet, the picture says that this upcoming device could be a 4K TV, a smartphone, or even a VR headset. Even if a 4K TV isn’t a bad idea, with companies like Xiaomi releasing such products in the past, a smartphone sounds more credible, as this is the actual trend on the market. Sony is the first company that unveiled a 4K smartphone, device called Xperia Z5 Premium.
If Elephone plans to release indeed a smartphone, P10000 might be its official name. Until this will happen, you should know that we’ve got our hands on the first Elephone device tested here on GSMDome, device called Elephone Trunk. You can see some pictures with this handset right here.

Elephone enters the 4K action camera market

Elephone has confirmed that the yellow camera, which is designed to look like a SJCAM is going to be called ELE CAM and it will be a 4K action camera. The 16 MP camera will record 4K video, but only at 15 fps, as it is built with an OV4689 sensor and has an Allwinner V3 chipset. If you want better frame rates, the camera records 720p HD video at 120 fps and 1080p video at 60 fps. As for the lens, it comes with a 170 degree wide angle lens, so it can easily compete with other action cameras that are already on the market.

The Elephone action camera does have a built-in Wi-Fi so it can be operated with Android or iOS devices. As the camera is intended for extreme sports, the casing is waterproof and can be easily attached to a helmet. As a new product on the market we expect the ELE CAM to have a cheaper price than other SJCAMs. Nonetheless, the Elephone device seems to be the less pricey alternative to a GoPro, so you should definitely keep your eye on more information that will soon be released.
